Cross Country Hits the Road for Oklahoma

SIUE is sending 7 members of the men's and women's cross country team to Stillwater, OK to compete in the NCAA Midwest Regional Cross Country Meet, hosted by Oklahoma State University, in Stillwater OK this Friday.  Roland Prenzler, Landon Skelly, and Austin Woodard will be competing in the 10k race, and Keri Burmester, Emily Ellis, Natalia Rodriguez, and Gabby Wood will compete for the women in the 6k race.  This meet serves as the qualifier for the NCAA National Meet in Terre Haute, IN.

"I am very excited for our squad to get out there and compete against our regional rivals and some of the best programs in the nation" said Assistant Coach CeCe Moore. "We have some seniors competing for whom this could be their last cross country competition, and we have some freshman who have never seen this meet so it will be a great exposure for them to that level of competition."

This season marks the open of the new Oklahoma State Cross Country Course, and in appreciation of its state-of-the-art design, the course is set to host the 2020 NCAA Cross Country Championships.

The women's race starts at 10:30am and will be followed by the men's race at 11:30am.
