LAST TIME OUT: SIUE dropped two away matches, falling to Murray State 3-1 and Austin Peay 3-2.
DUBTOBER: The Cougars went 6-2 in the month of October. All six wins were conference wins.
COUGARS BLOCK PARTY: The team is ranked second in the OVC in total blocks with 218. The Cougars are averaging 2.27 blocks per set on the season. Individually, Annie Ellis is fifth in the OVC with 97 total blocks.
SERIES STUFF: Eastern Illinois leads the series against SIUE, 11-10. The last meeting between these two teams was on October 2, 2019, when
the Cougars came away with the 3-0 victory, picking up their first conference win of the season. SIUE leads the overall series against Belmont 6-2. The last meeting between these two teams was on September 22, 2019, when the Cougars defeated the Bruins 3-0.
PREVIEWING THE PANTHERS: The Panthers are 2-22 on the season and 1-11 in OVC play. The team is coming off a 3-0 loss against Murray State. Leading the Pathers is Maggie Runge with 189 kills and 66 total blocks. Hannah Sieg has also been a contributor to the team with 76 total blocks. Bailey Chnadler has tallied 718 assists for the Panthers, while Katie Sommer has contributed 175 kills.
PREVIEWING THE BRUINS: The Bruins are 2-25 on the season and are 1-11 in OVC play. The team is coming off 3-0 loss against Morehead State. The Bruins are led by Halee Van Poppel with 286 kills and 24 aces and Kailee Bass who has 67 total blocks. Also for the team, Mary Catherine Ball has 236 kills on the season. The Bruinss will take on Tennessee State prior to the match agianst SIUE.
HOME SCHEDULE: After the match against Belmont, the Cougars have two home matches left this season agianst Southeast Missouri and UT Martin.
HEAD COACH KENDALL PAULUS: Coach Paulus is in her third season as SIUE's head volleyball coach. She has an overall coaching record of 43-38, with a record of 27-15 in the OVC.
