OVC OPENER: The Cougars will open up OVC play this weekend as they host both the Govs of Austin Peay and the Racers of Murray State. 
LAST TIMEOUT: SIUE is coming off an 0-3 weekend at the Cougar Classic. Kiana Fields was recognized for both her defensive and offensive efforts on the weekend by making the All-Tournament team. 
FINAL TOURNAMENT THINGS: The Cougars had six different players recognized on All-Tournament teams over the course of their four tournaments. Those recognized include Annie Ellis, Dylynn Otte, Kiana Fields, Mallory Nicholson, Rachel McDonald and Savannah Christian
SERIES STUFF: Austin Peay currently leads the all time series 8-13. Their last meeting was on November 9, 2018, where the Govs came out on top with a 3-0 victory. The Cougars last meeting with the Racers was on November 10, 2018 when SIUE fell short to Murray State 3-1.
PREVIEWING THE GOVS: The Govs are currently 2-12 on the season and are coming off a 3-0 loss against Western Kentucky. The teams only two wins on the year came from victories agaisnt Texas Tech and Missouri State. Brooke Moore currently leads the Govs in kills with 162 and is averaging 3.45 kills per set. 
PREVIEWING THE RACERS: The Racers have a record of 6-6 so far on the season. They will begin OVC play against Eastern Illinois on Friday night. The team is currently coming off a 1-2 touranment record wher ethey defeated Eastern Michigan and fell short to both Texas A&M Corpus Christi and #21 Purdue. Leading the way for the Racers is Rachel Giustino with 247 kills on the season and currently averages 5.26 kills per set.
HOME SCHEDULE: The Cougars have six home matches left this season including matches against Eastern Illinois, Jacksonville State, Tennessee Tech, Belmont, Southeast Missouri and UT Martin.
HEAD COACH KENDALL PAULUS: Coach Paulus is in her third season as SIUE's head volleyball coach. She currently has an overall coaching record of 37-31, with a record of 21-11 in the OVC.
