SECOND OF FOUR: The Saluki Bash is the second of four tournaments that the Cougars will compete in. They will be traveling to the Tulsa Invitational next weekend and then will wrap-up tournament play at home with the Cougar Classic.
JUST THE BEGINNING: The Cougars will play both Southeastern Louisiana and Alabama A&M for the first time in program history. The team will also play SIU-Carbondale for the second time in the all-time series.
ALL-TOURNAMENT: Senior outside hitter Dylynn Otte and junior outside hitter Rachel McDonald both were recognized for their efforts this past weekend. McDonald currently leads the team in kills with 39 and Otte is second with 28. 
HIGHLIGHTING THE COUGARS: Mallory Nicholson has tallied up eight aces so far on the season in just three games. Kiana Fields and Hope Everett both have eight blocks in three games, while Annie Ellis has seven. McDonald currently has 39 kills while hitting .261 and Otte has 28 and has a hitting percentage of .208. McDonald has also shown strength in backrow by tallying 34 digs, while Jordyn Klien has 32 digs on the season. 
HOME SCHEDULE:The Cougars will play 11 home matches this season, beginning with the Cougar Classic in September. Of their 11 games, the team will play eight Ohio Valley Conference matches at home including Austin Peay, Murray State, Eastern Illinois, Jacksonville State, Tennessee Tech, Belmont, Southeast Missouri and UT Martin.
AROUND THE COUNTRY: SIUE has players on the roster from nine different states: Arkansas, California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri and Texas.
HEAD COACH KENDALL PAULUS: Coach Paulus is in her third season as SIUE's head volleyball coach and ninth with the program. Paulus broke the school record for wins by a first-year head coach with 23 in 2017. She currently has an overall coaching record of 32-27, with a record of 21-11 in the OVC.
