SCOUTING JACKSONVILLE STATE: The matchup with the Gamecocks features the two school with the lowest opponent hitting percentage in the OVC. SIUE is first at .159 while the Gamecocks are second at .175. Allyson Zuhlke leads the team with 3.40 kills per set. 
SCOUTING TENNESSEE TECH: The Golden Eagles, who enter the weekend on a four-game losing streak, are third in the OVC in digs per set (16.22). Setter Susie Jeziorowski directs the offense and is second among OVC setters with 9.12 assists per set. 
WINNING STREAK: SIUE is tops in the OVC with a six-match winning streak. The Cougars also have won seven straight matches at the Vadalabene Center.
TOP 20 RANKING: Among NCAA Division I volleyball programs, SIUE is ranked 18th nationally in opponent hitting percentage (.159) and 20th in digs per set (17.42).

LONGEST AND LAST: This is the start of SIUE's longest homestand as well as last homestand of the regular season.
GOING FIVE: SIUE has not lost an OVC match in less than five sets since Oct. 31, 2015, when Southeast Missouri defeated the Cougars in three sets.
SERVE IT UP: Samantha Knight leads the OVC in service aces with 30. That is the most by a Cougar since Chelsea Colclasure and Kristen Torre each recorded 38 during the 2014 season.
TOP FIVE: Libero Katie Shashack passed the 300-dig mark for the season for the third time in her collegiate career. She currently sits at fifth all-time in career digs with 1,370. No. 4 is Kim Gilman (1996-99) with 1,416.
1,000 KILLS: SIUE outside hitter Ashley Witt became the 10th player in school history to record 1,000 career kills and currently is eighth all-time with 1,060.
TOURNAMENT CHAMPS: SIUE won two tournaments this fall, sweeping Toledo, Fort Wayne and Quinnipiac at the Fort Wayne Invitational as well as Seattle, Montana and UIC at the Cougar Invite.
ACTING HEAD COACH KENDALL PAULUS: This is Coach Paulus' first season as head coach and seventh season at SIUE, having previously worked as an assistant coach.
