Cougars Travel to Don DeNoon Invitational

Tentative Schedule

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The SIUE track and field teams will travel to Carbondale, Illinois, for the Don DeNoon Invitational Friday and Saturday.

"This meet is a good indicator of things to come," SIUE Head Coach Scott Block said. "There will be a few conference teams competing in this meet who are coming back from an off weekend. We are expecting some great performances with only three weeks to go until the Ohio Valley Conference championships.

The multi and field events will begin Friday, finishing up early Saturday morning. The track events will follow the ending of the multi and field events Saturday.

The Cougars are coming off a notable performance last week at the Top Times Titan Open. SIUE brought only sprinters and jumpers, but had seven individuals who placed top-3.

SIUE's Logan Webb (23 feet, 0.5 inches) and DeVonte Tincher (22-4.5) placed first and second respectively in the men's long jump. Webb's mark places him fifth best for the long jump in the OVC this season. Webb also placed third (45-0.25) while setting a personal record in the triple jump.

Deborrah Blackburn won the women's high jump (5-3) and placed sixth while setting a PR in the triple jump (34-2.75). Nichyria Byrd finished first in the women's triple jump (38-4).

In the sprints, Bobby Kaluza placed first in the men's 60m hurdles (8.56). Collin Brown finished second in the 200m (23.08) and fourth in the 400m (52.24).
