The event is set for the Student Recreation Center in Carbondale. On Friday, SIUE will compete in the weight throw and the long jump. All other events will take place Saturday beginning with field events at 10 a.m. and running events at 11 a.m.
"Like last weekend, it will be another larger Division I meet," said SIUE Head Coach Scott Block. "There are a lot of good programs coming in and schools we don't typically see."
The list of schools attending include Arkansas-Little Rock, Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, Lipscomb, Memphis, Murray State, Saint Louis, Southeast Missouri, UT Martin and Western Illinois
"As we are starting the peaking phase, I expect the performances to improve this weekend," said Block.
Block said the meet at SIU Carbondale tends to draw some strong competition in the field events.
"Nichryial Byrd has had two big weekends, first at Missouri and last weekend at Indiana. She had good performances in the long jump and the triple jump," said Block. "I'm also expecting some big things from Nick Matthews in the weight throw. He had a big PR last weekend, and I think he's on track to continue this weekend."
