EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Brittney Gibbs and Julian Harvey completed their run at the Olympics Trials with third and 19th place finishes in the triple jump and long jump, respectively.
Gibbs finished with a mark of 41 feet, 2.5 inches, just missing the Olympic standard.
"I am excited to see her blossom in the next three years," said SIUE Jumps Coach Joey Pacione.
Harvey completed the U.S. Olympic Trials with a jump of 24-10.
"I am expecting Julian to be among the elite in the NCAA in his final year of eligibility. The experience of competing at the trials will be a stepping stone for both of them to keep getting better."
"I'm extremely happy for both of them," continued Pacione. "They both ascended to a new level of performance this year and should be proud of their hard work paying off."
