Cougars Continue Fall Success

PEORIA, Ill.-- SIUE continued their strong fall season by competing in the Bradley Invitational. The flighted tournament was made up of Bradley, Western Michigan, Saint Louis, Illinois State and SIUE. 

Jill Lambrechts made it to the Championship of the Bradley top singles flight before falling to Maletin of Bradley 6-2, 7-5. Lambrechts finished 2-1 in singles play. 

Vanessa Reinicke claimed the championship of Braves flight by defeating Barbery of Bradley 4-1 (Injury Retirement). Reinicke went 3-0 on the weekend. 

Raillane Kamdem won the White flight by defeating teammate Caitlyn Sporing in the championship 6-2, 7-5. Kamdem remains undefeated this Fall in singles play by adding 3 wins this weekend. 

"This was a great test for our team," commented Head Tennis Coach Adam Albertsen. "The extremely strong field helped challenge our players over the last three days."

Each of the Cougars four doubles teams picked up a victory in flighted play. 

"We played well in singles and came away with some great results," Albertsen added. "Now we hope to keep building off this and get back to work on our doubles."

The Cougars return to action on October 11-12 when they host the Cougar Invitational.
