Women’s Tennis Falls at SEMO

PADUCAH, Ky. – The SIUE women's tennis team fell 6-1 to Southeast Missouri Friday. The match took place at the Paul Rowton Indoor Tennis Club in Paducah, Kentucky, because of inclement weather in Missouri.

The Cougars (6-13, 1-6 Ohio Valley Conference) dropped the doubles point to the Redhawks (10-9, 3-4 OVC) after conceding both the No. 2 and No. 3 matches. The No. 1 singles match went unfinished with SIUE's Lara Tupper and Ann-Christine Link tied with Teona Velkoska and Isabella Krupa, 6-6.

SIUE's Callaghan Adams picked up the lone point for the Cougars, defeating Krupa, 6-1, 7-5, in the No. 3 singles match. Adams improves to 9-9 on the season in singles play.

In No. 1 singles, Romana Tarajova defeated SIUE's Alina Munteanu, 6-4, 6-2. Munteanu drops to 10-6 in No. 1 singles this season.

SIUE's Lara Tupper was defeated, 6-4, 6-2, by Kseniya Zonova in the No. 2 double match.

The Cougars wrap-up the regular season Saturday at UT Martin, first serve set for 2 p.m.
