PADUCAH, Ky. – The SIUE women's tennis team fell to Murray State, 7-0, at the Rowtan Paul Indoor Tennis Center Saturday.
The Cougars drop to 0-18 overall and 0-7 in Ohio Valley Conference play after falling to both Murray State and Austin Peay this weekend.
After defeating the Cougars, the Racers move to 13-6 overall and an OVC leading 7-0 conference record.
"Murray State and Austin Peay are both very strong teams," said SIUE Head Coach Nick Mueller. "We battled in both meets this week."
In No. 1 doubles, Claire Chang and Jeanne Masson of Murray State defeated SIUE's Ann-Christine Link and Raillane Kamdem, 6-3.
The Cougars' Lara Tupper fell to Chang 6-4, 6-0 in the No. 1 singles match. In No. 3 singles, Aarja Chakraborty (MUR) defeated Link in two close sets 6-4, 6-4.
"We came away with some positives from doubles today," Mueller added. "We just need to string together a couple good sets in singles. We look forward to hosting next week."
SIUE will wrap up the season when they play host to both UT Martin Friday and Southeast Missouri Saturday.
