EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The SIUE women's tennis team is preparing to open its first home event with a dual match against long-time rival Saint Louis. The Cougars and the Billikens will be facing off at the Edwardsville Y this Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
The SIUE women's tennis team, undefeated in its first two matches of the spring season, is coming off a 6-1 win over Illinois State, where they captured singles wins from Lexi Aranda, Mia Frogner, Morgan Steffes, Tiffany Hollebeck and Callaghan Adams.
"I'm very happy with how we competed on Sunday versus Illinois State," said Head Coach Nick Mueller. "We will need to continue that going into the Saint Louis match this Saturday. In terms of the upcoming match, both teams are very familiar with each other. We saw them throughout the fall, so we know what to expect. This will be our home opener, so I know the team is anxious for their first home match. Playing on your home courts is always a good feeling. I know our team will be ready."
