PREVIEW: Cougar Set for Hoosier Classic

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE women's tennis heads to Bloomington, Indiana, for a three-day tournament beginning Friday.

SIUE joins Indiana, Cincinnati, Lipscomb, Western Michigan and Wright State in the fall event that will be divided into several flights for singles and doubles.

SIUE Head Coach Nick Mueller said his two newcomers to the roster (Callaghan Adams and Tiffany Hollebeck) are off to good starts.

"I think everything has been positive so far," said Mueller. "They just experienced their first collegiate event. Now we're going on to play some teams in a different region, including a Big Ten school."

The Cougars are coming off their home opener last weekend in which the team went 7-1 in singles. Adams, Mia Frogner and Morgan Steffens each went 2-0 in their singles matches on the final day of the SIUE Fall Invitational.

"It should be fun at Indiana with a lot of competition as a three-day event," added Mueller.
