SIUE Women’s Tennis Overcomes Austin Peay 6-1

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE women's tennis earned its second Ohio Valley Conference victory in a 6-1 win over Austin Peay.

With the win, the Cougars improve to 10-4 overall and 2-1 in the OVC. The Governors fall to 1-2 in the OVC.

SIUE earned the doubles point with wins from Mia Frogner and Madeline Hill at the No. 1 position and Lexi Aranda and Morgan Steffes at No. 3. The win is the fifth straight for Frogner and Hill, who improve to 11-2 at No. 1 doubles.

Five Cougars earned wins at singles, including Madeline Hill from the No. 3 spot. With the win, she earned her eleventh straight singles victory and remains undefeated in OVC play. Monique Krutak from the No. 4 spot earned her sixth straight win, also undefeated in the OVC.

Mia Frogner from No. 2 singles improves to 9-4 with her win. Ann-Christine Link and McKenzie Thomas secured the win for SIUE from the No. 5 and 6 positions, respectively.

SIUE continues OVC play Saturday with a match at Murray State at 10 a.m.
