BOCA RATON, Fla. - SIUE women's tennis wins its seventh straight match with a 5-2 victory over Florida Atlantic.

"Our team battled today against a good Florida Atlantic team," said SIUE Head Coach Nick Mueller. "We've only been (competing) outside for three days, but we showed a lot of guts today."

SIUE began the match by clinching the doubles point with wins from No. 1 team Mia Frogner and Madeline Hill and No. 2 team Lexi Aranda and Sierra Halverson

The Cougars also earned singles wins from Aranda, Frogner, Hill, and Monique Krutak to clinch the victory.

Aranda and Hill won their seventh straight singles match from positions No. 1 and No. 3, respectively, while Krutak won her second straight singles match.

"Our seniors did a great job of keeping the positive energy going, and I think it helped us clinch," said Mueller. "Overall, it was a great team effort."

SIUE continues its spring break trip with a match against Xavier Wednesday at 1 p.m.
