SIUE Women’s Tennis Win Fifth Straight Match

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE women's tennis earned its fifth consecutive victory 4-2 over Dayton.

SIUE improves to 6-2 on the spring season with the win.

The Cougars clinched the doubles point with victories in the No. 1 and No. 2 positions. The duo of Lexi Aranda and Sierra Halverson at No. 2 earned their eighth win to remain undefeated. Mia Frogner and Madeline Hill improve to 6-1 from the No. 1 spot.

Aranda, Frogner and Hill earned the remaining points for the Cougars, all improving to 6-2 in singles play.

"Overall, we got off to a good start in singles and doubles," said SIUE Head Coach Nick Mueller. "We put some pressure on them early, and Lexi clinched it for us in the end. This was a good team effort. Now we will get ready for Sunday."

The Cougars remain at home for a Sunday matchup against Illinois State. The match begins at 1 p.m.
