EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE women's tennis looks to win a pair of weekend home contests Friday and Sunday against Dayton and Illinois State.
Both matches will be played at the Edwardsville YMCA. Friday's match is scheduled for 3 p.m. and Sunday's match is scheduled for 1 p.m.
"It is always nice to have home matches," said SIUE Head Coach Nick Mueller. "We have had a great relationship with the Edwardsville YMCA, and we are very lucky to be able to utilize their facility."
Dayton enters the match at 7-2 and Illinois State at 7-1.
The Cougars, currently on a four-game win streak, have an overall record of 5-2 to start the spring season. Ann-Christine Link remains undefeated in singles play at 7-0 while Lexi Aranda, Mia Frogner and Madeline Hill have started their seasons at 5-2.
While the squad is off to a strong start, Mueller says he looks for the team to get better as the season goes on.
"The spring semester is about progress, and improving each week," said Mueller. "We have some special goals that we want to achieve this year, and if we don't improve each week then those goals will be difficult. We continue to work on areas that we need to work on, and I know the team is anxious to compete again."
