SIUE Women's Tennis Grabs Win Over Bradley

COLUMBIA, Mo. - SIUE women's tennis earned it's first win of the spring season with a 6-1 victory over Bradley. 

"I am very proud of our team's effort today," said Head Coach Nick Mueller. "There were lots of close sets, and we won a majority of them." 

Five Cougars won their singles sets, all in straight sets. Lexi Aranda from the No. 1 position won her match 6-3,6-4. Mia Frogner in the No. 2 position earned a victory 7-5, 7-5. Madeline Hill at the No. 3 position added a solid victory, not allowing her opponent to score in a 6-0, 6-0 win. McKenzie Thomas and Ann-Christine Link rounded out the singles victories for the Cougars. 

SIUE also won two of its doubles matches. The pair of Frogner and Hill at the No. 1 position added a 6-3 victory while Aranda and Sierra Halverson at No. 2 won with the same score. 

"I have a lot of respect for Coach Tyler's team, they are a good program," added Mueller. "We will recharge and get ready for next weekend."

SIUE will face cross-town rival St. Louis Friday before returning home Saturday for a match against Evansville.
