CARBONDALE, Ill. – SIUE women's tennis boasted two singles' champions in the Saluki Invite hosted by SIU Carbondale.

Mia Frogner, playing in the No. 1 singles position, won two matches to claim the championship. Frogner overcame opponents from SIU Carbondale and Arkansas State. Two weeks ago, Frogner also won her flight in the Gopher Invite at Minnesota, extending her win-streak to ten matches this fall.

Freshman Madeline Hill, playing in the No. 2 singles spot, also won two matches to win the championship of the Saluki Invite. She also defeated opponents from Arkansas State and SIU Carbondale. Hill is now 9-1 during the fall season.

SIUE won No. 1 and No. 2 doubles in the tournament. The pair of Frogner and Hill played in the No. 1 spot, winning two in a row. Morgan Steffes and Lexi Aranda won two doubles matches in a row from the No. 2 doubles position.

"Our student-athletes competed very well today," said Head Coach Nick Mueller.  "Some of them played higher than usual and they handled the adversity great. We learned a lot today, and now we'll take that into next week."

The Cougars travel to Stillwater, Oklahoma, Thursday for the ITA Regionals.
