EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE women's tennis continues its fall season by traveling to Carbondale Saturday for the Saluki Invite.

"The tournament is close and there should be nice weather," said Head Coach Nick Mueller. "It's also a great lead-in to the ITA Regionals next weekend. If we didn't have this tournament, we would have had a three-week break going into Regionals. This is a great way to continue competition."

The four teams scheduled to compete in the one-day tournament are SIUE, Arkansas State, Eastern Illinois and SIU Carbondale.

The Cougars already have seen success in the fall, with Mia Frogner and Morgan Steffes winning their flights at Minnesota's Gopher Invite.

"The team's cohesiveness is very good, and I think that leads to success," said Mueller. "We are still looking for improvement and not just being complacent."

The tournament begins with singles competition at 9:45 a.m.
