EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- The SIUE women's tennis team will return to action this weekend against the Murray State Racers.
The Cougars will enter the match against the future Ohio Valley Conference opponent with a 4-6 record. Two weeks ago the Cougars went 0-2 as the team only had four players in the matches. This resulted in 7-0 losses to Bradley and Northern Illinois University.
SIUE will attempt to build off their doubles play as that has been their strongest asset of the season. The pairing of Laura Horning and Ali Wulfers is 5-0; Maggie Boeckman and Carli Connors are 5-2, and Stephanie Clark and Amanda Niebur are 4-2.
Murray State enters the match with a 4-1 record. The Racers are coming off a 4-3 home victory against Southern Illinois University Carbondale. The match is set to begin Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Purcell Tennis Courts.
