EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The SIUE softball team earned national honors for its work in the classroom, having posted a 3.651 grade point average. Easton and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association ranked SIUE seventh among NCAA Division I programs based on grade point averages for the 2018-19 academic year.

The Cougars also had 15 individuals who were named Division I Scholar-Athletes. They are Micah Arps, Sydney Bina, Bailley Concatto, Conner Cutright, Alyssa Heren, Kloe Hilbrenner, Kali Kaneshiro, Jade Kranawetter, Abby Marlow, Jill Niehaus, Zoe Schafer, Janie Smith, Amber Storer, Bianca Vozenilek and Amara Wylie.
