Fresh Impact: SIUE Freshman Amanda DiNardo has started two of the Cougars' first three games in an attacking position. She scored her first career goal against Indiana State last Friday. DiNardo has recorded four shots, all on goal, this season. Freshman Megan Danielson has started all three games on the Cougars' back line. 

Sophomore Standouts: Sophomores Andrea Frerker and Myah Diekema have been key contributors for SIUE so far this season. Frerker is the Cougars leading scorer with three points (one goal, one assist), and Diekema recorded the assist on Frerker's goal at Kentucky. 
 
Series Stuff: SIUE is 2-0 all-time against Chicago State. The two schools last played during the 2016 season with the Cougars winning 6-1. SIUE is 0-1-1 against Illinois with the last meeting being played in 1982. 
 
Scouting Chicago State: The Cougars are 0-2-1 on the season with their draw coming in a 2-2 match at Youngstown State. Cristiano Costa is in his first season as the head coach at Chicago State. Marissa Beale leads the Cougars in points with four (two goals), scoring off her only two shots of the season. Audra Wisehart has started two games in net for Chicago State, racking up 13 saves. 
 
Scouting Illinois: The Fighting Illini have a 2-2 record on the year. They upset No. 3 Duke 2-1 on the road Aug. 19. Last Sunday during Illinois' home opener, the Fighting Illini defeated Northern Illinois 8-0. Illinois will play Oklahoma State Friday before playing host to the Cougars Sunday. The Fighting Illini have nine players who have recorded a goal through their first four games. Katie Murray is their leading scorer with six points (two goals, two assists). Peyton Willie leads the team in assists with three. 
 
Coaches Corner: "We need to make the next step in our progression, learn from our mistakes and keep growing," SIUE Head Coach Derek Burton said. "Both teams (Chicago State, Illinois) will be a challenge on the road with each team having their own style of play. We are looking forward to the challenge, and it's really just about us growing day by day."
