Pajama Party: Wear your favorite pair of pajamas to the game Friday between SIUE and Indiana State and recieve a $3 ticket. Prizes also will be given out for the festivites.
Previously: SIUE fell at Kentucky in the season opener 2-1. Andrea Frerker scored the lone goal for the Cougars in the 46th minute.
Mighty Midfield: SIUE midfielder Frerker scored off a 30-yard longshot that chipped the Kentucky goalkeeper. Courtney Benning took two shots, and Angel Ikeda recorded a shot on target from their midfield positions against the Wildcats.
What a Save: Jensen Schoch played all 90 minutes in goal for SIUE at Kentucky. She recorded 10 saves against the Wildcats and currently ranks fifth in the NCAA for saves per game (10.0).
Series Stuff: SIUE is 3-3 all-time against Indiana State with their last meeting coming September 8, 2013. SIUE is 0-4-1 against Saint Louis. Last season, the Cougars fell to the Billikens 3-0 at home.
Scouting the Sycamores: Indiana State comes into Korte Stadium winless after two games played. The Sycamores lost to Northern Kentucky 3-0 in their season opener and then played to a scoreless draw against Purdue Fort Wayne. Katie Wells leads the Sycamores in shots with three, all of which are on goal. Hanna Sullivan has played all 200 minutes in net for Indiana State, recording eight saves on the season.
Scouting the Billikens: Saint Louis will play host to Arkansas State Friday before facing the Cougars Sunday. SLU fell to Kansas State 1-0 in its season opener and then defeated Kansas City 2-0. Alyssa Seitzer and Maddie Pokorny both have recorded one goal and six shots each. Olivia Silverman has played every minute in goal for the Billikens, making seven saves.
Coaches Corner: "We are very positive heading into the weekend after our performance against Kentucky," SIUE Head Coach Derek Burton said. "We are excited to be back at home Friday to play a tough team. It's always nice to be back around here for a bit. On Sunday, it's not at home but we don't have to travel far. Saint Louis is always a good test with exceptional talent."
