OWENS CROSS ROADS, Ala. – SIUE women's golf is eighth after the first round of the 2016 Ohio Valley Conference completed Monday at Hampton Cove.

The Cougars have a combined 329 for the first round. Defending champion Eastern Kentucky leads the team competition with a 293. Murray State is second with a 304. Jacksonville State sits third with a 307.

Individually for SIUE, Alison Gorman leads the way with a first-round 81. She is tied for 29th. Madison Frerking and Miranda Lidisky are tied for 32nd. Each shot 82. Brittney Jostes is tied for 39th with an 84. Molly Marcum is 46th with a 90.

EKU's Anna Gleixner sits atop the leaderboard with a 68. Moa Folke of Murray State and Miranda Lindahl, also of EKU, are tied for second place with a 71.

The Cougars will be paired with Belmont for Tuesday's second round. Marcum and Belmont's Alexi Bevans are the first of the two teams to tee off. They will begin the round at 8:50 a.m.
