• The Miners are coming off a 9-16 season during the 2018-19 campaign.
• Center Alex Kerr was named third team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference and was named to the All-Freshmen team.
• Senior Mykala Baylor led the team last season in blocks with 64.
• This is the eighth season for SIUE Head Coach Paula Buscher. She led the Cougars to a Women's Basketball Invitational appearance during the 2017-18 season, the second such NCAA Division I postseason tournament appearance for SIUE.
• Coach Buscher recorded her 300th career victory last season.
Christen King is the team's top returning scorer at 8.6 points per game.
• SIUE has several new faces for the 2019-20 season. Bria Stallworth is a transfer from Nebraska and is pursuing a graduate degree at SIUE. Kaitlin Lee and Madison Hackstadt have been on the sidelines as redshirts last season. SIUE freshmen are Mikayla Kinnard, Tori Handley and Ajulu Thatha.
• Four of SIUE's first six regular season games will be at First Community Arena at the Vadalabene Center beginning Tuesday against Quincy.
