• Jacksonville State is coming off a 62-59 road loss at Eastern Illinois Thursday. The Gamecocks shot 28.1 percent (16-57) from the field.
• Destiny Elliott and Rayven Pearson lead the Gamecocks in scoring with 10.7 and 10.5 points per game, respectively.
• Pearson is averaging a double-double with 10.0 rebounds per game.
• The Cougars rallied from a 16-point second-half deficit to defeat Tennessee Tech 63-61. Christen King's layup with 48.7 seconds left snapped a 61-61 tie to lift the Cougars.
• This is the seventh season for SIUE Head Coach Paula Buscher. She led the Cougars to a Women's Basketball Invitational appearance last season, the second such NCAA Division I postseason tournament appearance for SIUE.
• Coach Buscher recorded win No. 100 at SIUE against McKendree. She recorded her 300th career victory last season.
Micah Jones needs 16 points to become the 27th player in school history to pass the 1,000-point mark.
Sydney Bauman broke her own SIUE single-season record for blocks (64) set last season and is the all-time leader in blocks at SIUE with 197.
Nakiah Bell is now fourth in career three-pointers (152) at SIUE, passing Misi Clark (1997-00) and Jessica Robert (2000-03).
• SIUE won the previous meeting this season at Jacksonville State 51-47. Bell came off the bench to lead the Cougars with 13 points.
• SIUE boasts two of the top six rebounders on the offensive end. Bauman is fourth at 3.3 per game while Allie Troeckler is sixth at 2.9 per contest.
• Jacksonville State leads the OVC in scoring defense (58.4) while the Cougars are fourth overall (64.5)
• Bauman is 24th nationally among active players in career blocks.
• Bell is No. 42 all-time in scoring at SIUE with 666 points.
• Bauman is No. 6 all-time in rebounds with 732 and No. 43 all-time in scoring with 655 points.
Alek Akuen became the ninth Cougar this season to hit a three-pointer after connecting on her only attempt in the UT Martin game.
• Coach Buscher announced four signees during early signing period. They include 5-9 guard Piper Francis (Mountain View, Missouri), 5-10 guard Tori Handley (Jeffersonville, Indiana), 5-11 forward Mikayla Kinnard (Louisville, Kentucky) and Ajulu Thatha (Indianapolis, Indiana).
