• Jacksonville State is coming off a 78-49 home win over Eastern Illinois. JuToreyia Willis led the Gamecocks with 15 points.
• The Gamecocks lead the OVC in scoring defense, yielding just 57.1 points per game.
• Rayven Pearson is No. 2 in the OVC in rebounds per game (8.8).
• SIUE's Christen King scored a career-best 21 points, but Tennessee Tech connected on 11 three-pointers to defeat the Cougars 79-55 at the Eblen Center. For King, it was the most scored by a Cougar this season. She was 8 of 17 from the field.
• This is the seventh season for SIUE Head Coach Paula Buscher. She led the Cougars to a Women's Basketball Invitational appearance last season, the second such NCAA Division I postseason tournament appearance for SIUE.
• Coach Buscher recorded win No. 100 at SIUE against McKendree. She recorded her 300th career victory last season.
• This is the 10th meeting in the series. SIUE has won the last three contests and holds a 6-3 series lead.
Sydney Bauman recorded her third double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds at Tennessee Tech.
• Bauman needs 10 rebounds to take over the No. 10 spot in all-time rebounds at SIUE. She has 623, and Kris Held (1988-91) recorded 632.
Micah Jones is No. 33 on the all-time scoring list for SIUE with 862 points. She has 40 double-digit scoring outings in her collegiate career.
• SIUE is No. 4 nationally in three-point field goal percentage defense at 24.1 percent.
• In its first three OVC games, SIUE has outrebounded its opponent by more than 13 rebounds per contest.
• Coach Buscher announced four signees during early signing period. They include 5-9 guard Piper Francis (Mountain View, Missouri), 5-10 guard Tori Handley (Jeffersonville, Indiana), 5-11 forward Mikayla Kinnard (Louisville, Kentucky) and Ajulu Thatha (Indianapolis, Indiana).
• SIUE's defense in conference games has resulted in 11 different players recording at least one steal. King leads the team with seven steals in the first three OVC games.
Nakiah Bell is No. 5 in the OVC in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.7 (38 assts/22 turnovers).
• SIUE is 20-0 under Coach Buscher when scoring 80 or more points. The Cougars scored a season-high 82 points in the win over Chicago State.
