ABOUT TODAY'S OPPONENT
• Eastern Illinois has started the same five in all 12 contests this season with Karle Pace leading the way with 14.8 points per game.
• Grace Lennox leads the team in assists (42) and steals (27).
• The Panthers come into the game having won three straight games, including their OVC opener against UT Martin 77-71.
 
LAST GAME
•  Southeast Missouri spoiled SIUE's opener Thursday. The Redhawks used a late run to defeat the Cougars 62-52. SIUE made 19 of 62 shots (31 percent) and committed a season-high 26 turnovers.
 
OPENING TIP
• This is the seventh season for SIUE Head Coach Paula Buscher. She led the Cougars to a Women's Basketball Invitational appearance last season, the second such NCAA Division I postseason tournament appearance for SIUE.
• Coach Buscher recorded win No. 100 at SIUE against McKendree. She recorded her 300th career victory last season.
• This is the 26th regular season meeting between SIUE and Eastern Illinois. EIU broke an eight-game SIUE winning streak in the series with a 76-72 overtime victory in the two teams' last meeting Feb. 18.
Christen King became the third different player to record a double-double this season as she scored 16 points and grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds against McKendree.
Micah Jones is No. 35 on the all-time scoring list for SIUE with 846 points. She needs one more double-digit scoring outing for 40 in her collegiate career.
• SIUE broke the school record for blocks in a game with 12 against Missouri State. 
• Coach Buscher announced four signees during early signing period. They include 5-9 guard Piper Francis (Mountain View, Missouri), 5-10 guard Tori Handley (Jeffersonville, Indiana), 5-11 forward Mikayla Kinnard (Louisville, Kentucky) and Ajulu Thatha (Indianapolis, Indiana).
• SIUE is 20-0 under Coach Buscher when scoring 80 or more points. The Cougars scored a season-high 82 points in the win over Chicago State.
• SIUE is ranked No. 6 nationally three-point field goal percentage defense (22.8 percent) through games of Jan. 2.
• Six different players have led the Cougars in scoring through 12 games. Nakiah Bell has led the Cougars in scoring four times.
