Honors for SIUE Women's Basketball Coaches

Destiny Bramblett and Wendy Hedberg

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Former SIUE women's basketball Head Coach Wendy Hedberg and current Assistant Coach Destiny Bramblett each received prestigious honors.

Hedberg, a member of the SIUE Athletics Hall of Fame after 29 years as SIUE's head coach, is being inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame May 4th. She led the Cougars to five NCAA Division II Tournament appearances and coached five All-Americans.

Bramblett is having her No. 32 jersey retired in a special ceremony Thursday night. A McDonald's All-American nominee at North Hardin (Kentucky) High School, she completed her prep career with 1,423 points and 953 rebounds. Bramblett played four seasons of collegiate basketball at Chattanooga.
