• This is the seventh game of the season for the Mastodons of Purdue Fort Wayne.
• De'Jour Young is the leading scorer and rebounder for the Mastodons with 14.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.
• Both teams have a common road opponent already this season. SIUE defeated Evansville 54-45 (Nov. 14). Purdue Fort Wayne bested Evansville 72-66 (Nov. 20).

•  SIUE women's basketball took its first loss of the season, dropping a 59-36 game at No. 21 Missouri. SIUE had some positives come out of the game, including winning the battle of the boards 35-33. That included 13 offensive rebounds. Sydney Bauman led the Cougars with 12 points on 6-of-11 shooting to go along with a team-high eight rebounds.

• This is the seventh season for SIUE Head Coach Paula Buscher. She led the Cougars to a Women's Basketball Invitational appearance last season, the second such NCAA Division I postseason tournament appearance for SIUE.
• Coach Buscher announced four signees Friday. They include 5-9 guard Piper Francis (Mountain View, Missouri), 5-10 guard Tori Handley (Jeffersonville, Indiana), 5-11 forward Mikayla Kinnard (Louisville, Kentucky) and Ajulu Thatha (Indianapolis, Indiana).
• SIUE is ranked No. 1 in the OVC in fewest fouls (54) and fewest turnovers (52).
• SIUE played two Missouri Valley Conference teams to start the season, winning both. The Cougars also will play Loyola (Dec. 6), and Missouri State at the Roos Holiday Classic (Dec. 21).
Sydney Bauman currently is ranked No. 28 nationally in offensive rebounds per game with five per contest.
• Bauman continues to extend her career record in blocks. After recording one at No. 21 Missouri, she has 139 in her collegiate career.
• The game against Purdue Fort Wayne is the third of nine consecutive road games with the Cougars playing away from home Nov. 14-Dec. 21.
Christen King set a career high with three steals against No. 21 Missouri.
• SIUE has outrebounded all three of its opponents so far this season, but the most was by six at Evansville.
• The Cougars are ranked 71st nationally and third in the OVC in scoring defense (55.0 points per game).
• Coach Buscher needs three more victories for 100 at SIUE. She recorded her 300th overall victory last season.
