• Missouri is coming off a 56-49 loss to Green Bay at home.
• Sophie Cunningham leads the Tigers with a 17.0 scoring average followed by 14.7 points per game from Amber Smith.
• Missouri's first two wins of the season were at Western Illinois (89-64) and at home against Missouri State (65-61).

• SIUE went on a 20-0 run in the second period Wednesday and downed Evansville for a 54-45 road victory. The Cougars actually scored 22 points in a row at one point in the contest with the final bucket of the first period by Mikia Keith. SIUE trailed 12-9 after the first 10 minutes but quickly showed dominance in the second period. Jay'nee Alston powered the Cougars with four three-pointers

• This is the start of seventh season for SIUE Head Coach Paula Buscher. She led the Cougars to a Women's Basketball Invitational appearance last season, the second such NCAA Division I postseason tournament appearance for SIUE.
• Coach Buscher announced four signees Friday. They include 5-9 guard Piper Francis (Mountain View, Missouri), 5-10 guard Tori Handley (Jeffersonville, Indiana), 5-11 forward Mikayla Kinnard (Louisville, Kentucky) and Ajulu Thatha (Indianapolis, Indiana).
• The Cougars are 29-11 all-time in home openers. SIUE now has won its last six home openers and 14 out of the last 16.
• SIUE is now 24-15 all-time in season openers after the win over Illinois State.
• SIUE played two Missouri Valley Conference teams to start the season, winning both. The Cougars also will play Loyola (Dec. 6), and Missouri State at the Roos Holiday Classic (Dec. 21).
• After recording a double-double against Illinois State, Sydney Bauman tied her career best with 15 points in the win at Evansville. She currently is ranked 20th nationally in rebounds per game at 13.5.
• Bauman continues to extend her career record in blocks. After recording four at Evansville, she has 138 in her collegiate career.
• This is the second of nine consecutive games from Nov. 14 to Dec. 21 with the Cougars playing away from home.
• The Cougars have used eight bench players in each of the first two games.
• Alston is ranked 58th nationally in three-pointers made per game at three.
• Coach Buscher needs three more victories for 100 at SIUE. She recorded her 300th overall victory last season.
