LAST TIME OUT
CoCo Moore and Tierny Austin each recorded career highs in a 79-76 win over Kansas City. Moore scored 23 on 10-of-14 shooting from the field. Austin shot 8 of 16 from the field and finished with 21 points.
Austin, who averaged 11.4 points per game last season, was named to the Ohio Valley Conference's preseason All-OVC team. The 10-person team includes five players who have not previously been named All-OVC.
With Saturday's win, SIUE is 24-11 all-time in home openers since 1979.
Alexis Chappelle recorded the first double-digit scoring game of her career with 11 points against Kansas City.
SCOUTING THE FLAMES
The Flames dropped their first two games to St. Xavier and Northwestern. UIC rebounded for a 70-62 win over Idaho State at home. Rachel Story leads five players averaging double figures in scoring with 18.0 per game. The Flames have been to the free throw line 106 times in their first three games.
CoCo Moore is third in the OVC in steals with 2.3 per game. She also leads the Cougars in scoring (16.3 per game) and assists (2.7 per game).
Austin, a junior, became the 36th player in school history to record 600 career points after collecting 21 against Kansas City.
Monday night this season is Family Fun Night presented by The Cup. It includes four tickets, four drinks, four hot dogs and a coupon for the family to The Cup as well as access to the Family Fun Zone (inflatables) in the South Me.
SIUE, coming off its first appearance in the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament, will play teams from 10 different conferences and eight teams that advanced to postseason play in 2012-13. The list of teams in the postseason are:

Eastern Kentucky (WBI)
Shronda Butts, who previously played at Bradley, will sit out the 2013-14 season due to NCAA Division I transfer rules.
