Cougar Cross Country Season Ends at Home

The SIUE cross country teams ran for the final time this season at the OVC Championships at the team's home course.  The 8k course for the men's team was led by Roland Prenzler who finished 22nd with a PR of 25:39.  Roland was followed by Landon Skelly who finished 30th with a time of 25:57.50.  Senior Austin Woodard finished 26:29.8.  Sophomore Joe Stone finished 27:50.5, freshman Cameron Woodard finished 28:19.3, freshman Spencer Hielkema finished 28:27.6, and freshman Cree Stumpf finished the group with 29:21.3.

The women's team was headed by junior Kassidy Dexheimer with a time of 18:48.4 on the 5k course.  Kassidy was narrowly followed by senior Keri Burmester who finished 18:56.0.  Sophomore Emily Ellis fought hard and finished with a 31st place finish time of 19:04.6 and freshman Natalia Rodriquez finished with a time of 19:05.2.  Sophomore Gabby Wood finished 20:00.6 and Senior Aly Goff finished with a time of 20:34.5.  The women's team was rounded out by senior Jalea Paslay with a time of 21:46.9.

"It was a great, fantastic day," said head coach Scott Block.  "We had a tremendous amount of PR's and season bests, especially for a course as difficult as ours."
