Eileen McAllister is in her first season as interim head coach for the men’s and women’s track and field program.
Previously, McAllister worked as an assistant coach at SIUE, working with the Cougars' distance runners. She also serves as the men’s and women’s cross country head coach.
McAllister holds a certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as well as a Level II Endurance certification from USA Track and Field. She also is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a health and fitness instructor.
McAllister has served in several capacities for SIUE Athletics. She has been a strength and conditioning coach for the entire Athletics Department, an assistant cross country coach, a head cross country coach, and a track and field assistant coach.
She has been a personal trainer at The Fitness Edge in St. Louis as well as a personal trainer and exercise program specialist at the University of Miami.
McAllister holds a bachelor of arts in psychology from Washington University in 1999. She also assisted the track and field and cross country programs at Washington University in 2000-2001. McAllister later earned a master's degree in exercise physiology from the University of Miami in 2008.
