THE COUGARS: SIUE men's soccer is currently on a four-game winning streak and a five-game unbeaten streak. This is the Cougars' second four-game winning streak of the year. 
STRONG START: SIUE looks to continue the best start to a season in the Division I era. The previous best start came in 2012 when the Cougars were 7-3 through the first 10 games of the season.
PREVIOUSLY: The Cougars got two goals from Lachlan McLean and a double-overtime winner from freshman Kelby Phillips to score a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Northern Illinois Saturday. SIUE trailed 2-0 in the first half.
SCORING LEADERS: McLean and Jorge Gonzalez are 1-2 in scoring for SIUE. McLean has 18 points (7 goals, 4 assists) which leads the Mid-American Conference and 24th nationally. His seven goals are tied for the league lead and rank 26th in the NCAA. Gonzalez has six goals, which is third in the MAC. His 12 points also are third. 
SERIES STUFF: The Cougars and Bulldogs have met five times, all coming in the last five seasons. SIUE leads the series 2-1-2. The Cougars are 1-1-1 in three games at Butler, which includes a scoreless draw in the second round of the 2016 NCAA Championship. SIUE advanced to the third round on penalties.
