TONIGHT: SIUE opens the home schedule tonight. The game is the first of a season-long five-game home stand, which encompasses more than half of SIUE's home schedule.

FOR OPENERS: Following the draw at Memphis, SIUE is 4-5-2 in season openers since the return to Division I in 2008.

SCORING LEADERS: Jorge Gonzalez and Lachlan McLean, SIUE's top two goal scorers in 2017, both picked up their first tallies of the season Friday at Memphis. Gonzalez scored the opener in the 18th minute (assisted by McLean). McLean scored his goal in the 61st minute.

ALL-AMERICAN: Counting two preseason games (at Tulsa, vs. Cincinnati) and including the season opener at Memphis, the Cougars have only faced American Athletic Conference members this season.

AT THE HELM: Cougars Head Coach Mario Sanchez begins his fourth season in charge of men's soccer. Sanchez sports a 29-19-11 record in three full seasons at SIUE. In his seventh season overall as a head coach, Sanchez is 53-60-20.

SERIES STUFF: The all-time series between the two schools is tied 4-4. The Cougars are 2-2 at home in the series. The Kangaroos have won the last two meetings, including a 2-0 win in Edwardsville during the 2015 season.
