SCOUTING CENTRAL ARKANSAS: SIUE and Central Arkansas previously met in Conway, Ark., Oct. 27 as the Cougars downed the Bears 1-0. Central Arkansas entered the MVC Tournament as the No. 6 seed and upset third-seeded Bradley on Bradley's home turf 1-0. Daniel Sampedro scored the game winner for the Bears who enter Friday's game with an 8-8-1 record.


THE SERIES VS. CENTRAL ARKANSAS: SIUE leads the series 4-2-1 after the Oct. 27 1-0 victory.


RPI: The RPI (Rating Percentage Index) is a key statistical tool the NCAA Tournament Committee uses to determine at-large berths to the national championships. SIUE is ranked No. 32 in the nation in the RPI. The other rankings in the Missouri Valley Conference include Creighton (14th), Evansville (76th) , Bradley (104th), Drake (110th), Central Arkansas (129th), and Missouri State (146th).


RECORDS TO WATCH: SIUE is 5-0 this season coming off a loss (Akron/DePaul, Indiana/Green Bay, UIC/Omaha, Creighton/Bradley, and Evansville/Drake). The Cougars lost their final regular season game at Duke.


SCORING FIRST: SIUE is a perfect 12-0 when it scores first and 0-6 when its opponent scores first. The Cougars are 9-0 when leading at halftime.


THREE TIMES: Peter Kelly and Jared Tejada both have three game-winning goals this season, accounting for half of SIUE's wins. Kelly also holds the distinction of recording a game-winning goal in each of his four seasons at SIUE.


SCORING LEADER: Christian Volesky leads the Missouri Valley Conference in goals scored with nine. He also has two game-winning goals, both in MVC play.
