NATIONALLY RANKED: SIUE is No. 25 in the College Soccer News Poll which was released Monday. The Cougars were No. 22 in the NSCAA national poll last week. The newest rankings will be released a few hours before Tuesday's game at Green Bay. SIUE is ranked 39th in the TopDrawerSoccer.com poll.


THREE-MATCH HOMESTAND: After Tuesday's match at Green Bay, the Cougars have three straight games at Korte Stadium beginning with Dayton Saturday. SIUE also plays UIC next Wednesday and Nebraska-Omaha Oct. 2.


SCHOLAR-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Brian Groark was named the Missouri Valley Conference Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The psychology major scored the game-winning goal in SIUE's 1-0 victory over UMKC.


500 VICTORIES: The SIUE men's soccer program won its 500th overall contest in the 1-0 triumph over UMKC.


FIRST HALF SCORING: SIUE's offense has scored six times in seven games during the first half of contests yet the defense has given up just two goals during the same time period.


THE SERIES VS. GREEN BAY: Green Bay holds one-goal victories in both of the two previous meetings. SIUE lost 1-0 last season at home and were defeated 2-1 back in the 1993 season.


LEADING SCORER: Christian Volesky and Jared Tejada are tied for the team lead in scoring with six points. Volesky has three goals while Tejada has two goals and two assists.


VICTORIES ABOUND: SIUE is tied for the MVC lead in wins with five. Both of SIUE's losses have come from nationally-ranked teams away from Korte Stadium - Akron and Indiana.
