EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Sophomore Brooks Jungbluth earned his first top-10 finish, helping SIUE Golf to a sixth-place finish at Austin Peay's F&M Bank Intercollegiate, completed Tuesday at Greystone Golf Club.
The Cougars carded a final-round 298 to finish at 863 (-1). UT Martin claimed team honors at 844 (-20). Austin Peay (-17) finished second, followed by Belmont (-13), Missouri State (-8) and Murray State (-2).
Jungbluth finished tied for eighth place with four other golfers at four-under-par 212. It is the lowest 54-hole total of his career.
Albert Nilsson finished at an even-par 216 to tie for 10th. Parker McEachern was 25th at 218. Anthony Ruthey and Connor Neighbors, playing as an individual, tied at 32nd place with a 220. Presley Mackelburg tied for 45th. Peder Lehmann Brunnsjö, the Cougars' second individual, tied for 58th at 230.
UT Martin's Jack Story fired a 207 (-9) to win medalist honors. Austin Peay's Michael Busse (-8), Murray State's Justin Knight (-7) rounded out the top three finishers.
The tournament concludes SIUE's fall schedule. The Cougars will return to the course February 22-24 at the Loyola Invitational in Goodyear, Arizona.
