RICHMOND. Ky. – SIUE senior Kyle Slattery tied the school record Saturday, carding a 64 in the second round of the EKU Intercollegiate sponsored by Raising Cane's. The Cougars are sixth with a combined 576 after two rounds of play.
The Cougars second round score of 284 is among the lowest in school history.
Slattery, who is playing as an individual, has a share of the tournament lead at 137 (-7). Ty Celone of Eastern Michigan and Eastern Kentucky's Billy Bashman also sit at 137. He tied the school record shared by Neal McCarty and Danny Gorman.
Albert Nilson, playing in his first tournament for the Cougars, leads the team at three-under par (141). He is tied for eighth. Conor Dore is 13th at two-under (142). Brooks Jungbluth is at 146 and is tied for 36th. Jungbluth fired a second-round 69.
Eastern Michigan leads the team tournament with a 557. Eastern Kentucky is second at 563. Morehead State is third with a 571.
The final 18-hole round will get underway Sunday at the University Club at Arlington. Tee times begin at 7:30 CT.
