Freshman Leads Cougars at Air Force

First Round Results

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Freshman Brooks Jungbluth leads the way for SIUE golf as the Cougars kicked off the season at Air Force's Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational. Following Friday's first round of play, Jungbluth is tied for 10th at one-under par (71).

Grant Gavin is tied for 33 at 73 (+1). Kyle Slattery, Conor Dore and Presley Mackelburg each have a 77 to tie for 69th.

As a team, the Cougars have a combined 298 and are 13th of 16 teams. New Mexico State leads among teams with a 284. Weber State and Colorado are tied for second at 285. UC Davis (286) and Wyoming (287) are fourth and fifth, respectively.

New Mexico State's Tadhg Campbell and Mike McGilton sit atop the individual leaderboard. Campbell has a 67 and McGilton has a 68. Joshua Wu, of Air Force, is one of four golfers with a 69 in a tie for third place.

Second round play gets underway at the Eisenhower Golf Club Saturday morning. Tee times begin at 8:30 a.m. CT.
