Golf Opens Season at Air Force

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – After leading the Ohio Valley Conference in scoring average in 2017-18, SIUE golf is ready to open its 2018-19 season. The Cougars will open the season at Air Force's Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational Friday.

"We are excited to get the season started this year," SIUE Head Coach Derrick Brown said. "We have a lot of new faces with some veterans, and I am excited to start at a great event at the Air Force Academy."

The three-day, 54-hole tournament features a 16-team field. Aside from the Cougars and host Air Force, competing teams include Abilene Christian, Colorado, Drake, Missouri State, New Mexico State, Northern Colorado, Northern Iowa, Southern Utah, Texas State, UC Davis, Utah State, Utah Valley State, Weber State and Wyoming.

The tournament will play out at the Eisenhower Golf Club. The Blue course, a Robert Trent Jones Sr. design, plays at 7,511 yards and a par 72.
