Mark Allaria enters his eighth year overall as an assistant at SIUE and his fourth season under head coach Lennox Forrester in 2010-2011. Allaria previously spent four seasons with the Cougars under former head coach Marty Simmons after two successful seasons as a player at the University of Evansville. His time at SIUE includes the 2005-2006 season in which SIUE advanced to the Elite Eight for the first time. His responsibilities include recruiting, scheduling, game and practice preparation along with the development of the perimeter players. A native of Edwardsville, Allaria played in 58 games for the Aces. His 150 assists during the 2001-02 seasons led the Missouri Valley Conference and were the eighth most by an Evansville player in a single season. Allaria was a member of the 2001-02 Missouri Valley Conference first team Scholar-Athlete team. He played a team-high 103 minutes in the 2000 San Juan Shootout, and was the lone player to finish two full games without a minute's rest during the 2000-01 season. Allaria joined the University of Evansville after playing two seasons at John A. Logan College, averaging 10 points, six assists and three rebounds per game. At Edwardsville High School, Allaria set school records for single-season and career assists while helping the Tigers to a 26-2 record his senior season. He earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology at Evansville in 2002. Allaria also earned a master's degree in sports management in 2005 from SIUE. Allaria and his wife, Katie, have a one-year old son, Ty and reside in Edwardsville.
