NEW ERA
Edwardsville native Jon Harris is in his first season at the helm of the Cougars and his first season as a head coach. Harris spent 14 seasons as an assistant coach.
YOUTH SERVED
Harris turned 35 in August and is the second-youngest first-year head coach in NCAA Division I men's basketball. Only Chattanooga's Matt McCall (34 in December) is younger. Only 10 head coaches in all of Division I are younger than Harris.
LAST TIME OUT
SIUE men's basketball scored its first-ever win in Charleston, knocking off Eastern Illinois 72-64 Saturday night. The Panthers got out to a fast start, leading 12-3 at the first media timeout. The Cougars answered with a 13-0 run and led 16-12 following a pair of Burak Eslik free throws with 11:34 to play in the half. The Cougars had two more runs of six points each, including to end the half, and carried a 32-25 lead into the break. Eslik finished with a game-high 29 points.
ABOUT THE REDHAWKS
Southeast Missouri has dropped five straight since defeating SIUE Jan. 28. Antonius Cleveland leads the team with 14.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.

Southeast leads the series 16-8 after defeating the Cougars Jan. 28 in Edwardsville. The Cougars had won three straight in the series before that meeting.
