For the second time in as many road games, SIUE men's basketball had a second half-comeback fall short, falling at Southeast Missouri 82-78 in Ohio Valley Conference basketball at the Show Me Center. The Cougars got out to a quick start, connecting on their first three attempts from three-point range, and led 9-4 with 17:28 to play in the first half. Southeast Missouri held a 28-24 lead following a pair of Tim Johnson free throws with 8:45 left. The Redhawks then used a 22-1 run over nearly seven minutes to lead 50-25 with 1:58 left before half. The Cougars reeled off the final 10 points of the period and SEMO held a 50-35 lead at the break.
Rozell Nunn earned SIUE's first-ever OVC Player of the Week Award after leading SIUE to wins over Austin Peay and Murray State this past week. Nunn led the Cougars with 15 points and seven rebounds in the win over the Govs. He hit the game-winning put-back with 12 seconds to play. Nunn scored a career-high 20 points and seven rebounds in the win over Murray State, dealing the Racers their first OVC loss of the year. Nunn also earned the Newcomer of the Week Award.
