Despite a career-high 30 points from Ron Heflin, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville fell to Saint Joseph's Saturday night 90-86 at the Vadalabene Center.
Saint Joseph's (5-14, 2-11 GLVC) erased an 11-point SIUE (7-12, 3-10 GLVC) lead and scored 62 points in the second half. The Pumas shot 32 percent from the field in the first half and then turned it around for 68 percent in the second half.
SIUE also gave up 23 turnovers to 10 mishaps for the Pumas. Saint Joseph's scored 40 points off SIUE turnovers.
Heflin turned in a 12-of-19 shooting performance, including 3 of 3 from three-point range. Wes Pickering added 22 points on 9-of-11 shooting.
Corey Seegers led five players in double figures for St. Joseph's with 25 points.
SIUE now hits the road for a two-game swing at Northern Kentucky on Thursday and Bellarmine on Saturday.
