Every 19 seconds, somewhere in the world, a case of breast cancer is diagnosed in a woman – a sobering statistic. SIUE Women’s Basketball and SIUE Pink Zone pledges to do all it can to raise awareness and funds for Susan G. Komen Missouri. We want to find a cure, and we want you to join us as we #fightforit through the 2017 Pink Zone events!

Schedule of Events

 Pink Zone Fan Reception – Thursday, February 2, 5-7 p.m. (DoubleTree by Hilton, Collinsville, IL)

-Join SIUE Head Coach Paula Buscher at the Pink Zone Fan Reception! Raffle tickets will be available for purchase and raffle baskets will be on display. Complimentary appetizers and refreshments will be served.

 

Pink Zone Game – Saturday, February 4, noon (Vadalabene Center, SIUE Campus)

-The 2017 Pink Zone basketball game features the Cougars taking on Jacksonville State at noon. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase. Winners will be selected during halftime of the men’s game, which follows at 4 p.m. Breast cancer survivors will be honored during the women’s game.

Dining for the Cure – January 30 – February 4, 2017

Mike Shannon’s Grill (Edwardsville): During the month of February, Mike Shannon’s will be serving their signature Pink Zone cocktail, with a portion of the proceeds donated to Pink Zone. On Saturday, February 4, a percentage of all desserts will be donated to Pink Zone.

The Cup (Edwardsville): During the Pink Zone games on Saturday, February 4, Pink Ribbon ‘Hope’ cupcakes will be available, with all proceeds being donated to Pink Zone.

Coach’s Challenge

-Join Coach Paula Buscher and Coach Jon Harris in the Coach’s Challenge. They have each pledged $25 per three-pointer the Cougars make in each of their team’s respective Pink Zone games, and they hope you’ll do the same. Pledges can be restricted to the women’s game or the men’s game. Or, make your pledge for both games! To sign up for the Coach’s Challenge, please email Toni Thomas at tonthom@siue.edu.

 

Free-Throw Challenge

-Make your pledge and give $5 for every made free-throw during the women’s game! To sign up for the Free-Throw Challenge, please email Toni Thomas at tonthom@siue.edu.

 

Basket Raffle

-Participate in the popular Pink Zone Basket Raffle! Tickets are $1/each, or $20 for a player arm length. Tickets will go on sale at the Pink Zone Fan Reception on February 2, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Collinsville, IL. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the Pink Zone game on Saturday, February 4. Raffle winners will be selected during halftime of the men’s basketball game, which begins at 4 p.m. Previous raffle items include St. Louis Cardinals tickets, spa baskets, sports memorabilia, gift cards, lottery tickets and much, much more!

 

Pink Zone Shirts

-Purchase a Pink Zone shirt and support Susan G. Komen! Short-sleeve t-shirts are available for $5, and long-sleeve shirts are available for $10. Shirts will be available for purchase at SIUE home basketball games, as well as in the Morris University Center (MUC) on select days leading up to the Pink Zone event.
