EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE Director of Athletics Dr. Brad Hewitt announced the appointment of NaDean Schroeder as an Assistant Athletics Director.
“We’re excited and pleased to announce that we are elevating NaDean Schroeder to Assistant Athletics Director for Ticketing and Annual Fund,” said Hewitt. “She has done an outstanding job for Cougar Athletics. Her growth and interest in the development side is very refreshing. We will look to take advantage of her enthusiasm and hope it generates more revenue for Cougar Athletics.”
She took the reins on the Department’s ticketing office in mid-October with the goal to increase basketball ticket sales and overall revenue.
In addition to ticket sales, Schroeder, along with Senior Associate Director of Athletics Jason Coomer, are spearheading the Red & Black Gala, an elite social event to help raise money for the Cougar Scholarship Fund. The first annual Red & Black Gala will be held April 8th at the Doubletree-Hilton in Collinsville, Illinois.
Schroeder joined the External Relations team in 2012 and has lead marketing and event management efforts for men's soccer, men's basketball, women's basketball, wrestling and softball. She also oversees the day-to-day development operations, including the Cougar Excellence Fund and special events, and serves as the Sport Administrator for the men's and women's golf programs.
Schroeder and the SIUE Athletics marketing team were named the 2014 victors of the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators award for Sponsor Activation after successfully setting a world record in number of soda cans opened at the same time, during the 2013 orientation event at the men's soccer game. The record was set with more than 1,800 cans being opened at the same time. The award was chosen among candidates in NCAA DI AAA and NCAA DII.
Her duties include coordinating the Cougar Excellence Fund and day-to-day operations of the Department's development, managing the brand of SIUE Intercollegiate Athletics, helping plan and manage the Red & Black Gala and other fundraising events, overseeing ticketing for all SIUE athletics events, supervising the special events group, managing a handful of sponsor relationships and contracts and enhancing SIUE’s presence within the community.
Under her guidance, the Department has raised more than $35,000 for cancer research through the Coaches vs. Cancer and Pink Zone Breast Cancer Awareness events in the past three years. She also organizes the annual Hall of Fame banquet and serves as the Secretary for the Hall of Fame committee.
Schroeder earned a bachelor’s degree in communication at the University of North Dakota in 2005 and a master’s in sports management at St. Cloud State in 2007.
