Cougars Set the Pace at Stegemoller Classic

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The SIUE men's and women's cross country teams have a solid outing at the Stegemoller Classic.

In the men's 8k, Austin Woodard finished 37th overall with a 26:03.3 time. Landon Skelly set a personal record with a 26:16.2 time, placing him 49th.

"Austin (Woodard) led the men today," Assistant Coach Kayla Brown said. "Landon Skelly ran an impressive six second PR today."

On the women's side, Haley Miller finished in the top-20 for the second time this season. Miller finished 19th overall (18:49.1). Allie Sweatt finished 29th overall with a time of 19:02.1. Jess Clarke ran a season best 19:18.9.

"On the women's side we had a great day of finding each other within the race," Brown added. "We are working towards closing our gaps and strengthening ourselves as a team."

The Cougars are back in action Oct. 6th when they travel to Peoria, Illinois for the Bradley Invitational.
